In the municipality of Bagno di Romagna, in the National Park of Casentino Forests, at 557 above sea level is the impressive dam Ridracoli.
Built in the 80s on Bidente river and the Rio Celluzze, it constitutes a reservoir capable of bringing water to the plains below to the Adriatic Coast.
Lake Ridracoli is very popular tourist destination because it is a rare beauty is surrounded by untouched nature where you can meet beautiful specimens of animals typical of the Casentino National Park.
There are practiced many leisure activities: trekking and beautiful walks along the many trails, visiting the lake in electric boat tour of the lake by canoe, educational visit to the locks of the dam, fishing, 3D cinema in the village of Ridracoli. Then there is the Hydro Ecomuseum of Waters, a nice interactive museum for children and adults where the water is undisputed star, and which explains the operation of the dam and how the water collects there and are distributed in the homes, as well as many other curiosities of this fundamental element of our existence.
